SHOWING YOUR ROCSICOON
Anyone can show a Maine Coon, but your cat has to be show quality. Check below what you need to know.
Who can show?
You do not need special skills to show on the GCCF. As long you know how to handle your cat and are able bring it to the venue where the show is held, you can show. They are placed in a large cage for the judges to handel, inspect and given a score based on the SOP.
Show cat
Any cat registered as pedigree on the GCCF can enter open class competition. Non pedigree go in household pets. Rocsicoon pride itself only to sell cats for show that have a good SOP. Not every cat is show quality and not every cat likes it. The basic requirement is friendly and easy to handle.
SOP
Standard of points is a system used to determine the quality of a cat to the standard expected under GCCF rules. For maine Coons it has to be True to Type ( USA) Check the MCCC website about the points given, and what true to type looks like. https://maine-coon-cat-club.com/
Grooming
One of the aspects of showing is knowing to groom your cat to perfection. If you join our show family, we will gladly help you, teach you and steer you through the process of preparing. We will also induce you into showing and help you navigating the GCCF website and show calendar.
