About Us
Since 2003 we have been passionate about Maine Coons and 5 years ago we became hobby breeders. We showed our Silver Shaded girl " Ava-Louise" for the 1st time on GCCF in 2022 and there I met the late Dr Philippa Holmes, who took me under her wing to teach me everything about breeding silvers.
Philippa convinced me to acquire a red or cream stud and gave me her silver stud to give me a head start in the breeding program. Whilst I study genetics and listen to experienced fellow breeders, litters have already been born and Rocsicoon owners have given marvelous feedback.
We are modern hobby breeders. All cats live in our home and have access to secured gardens and many cat posts and high walks. Kittens are born under supervision in my bedroom and move to the nursery at 3 weeks where they have a fantastic set up to be stimulated and motivated to develop great skills and socialise with felines and humans.
We always choose active cats from the best pedigrees with the sweetest temperaments and best socialisation skills. It makes great studs and fantastic queens whom not only take care of their babies but parent them to behave well. This means pets are not aggressive and do not destroy your house, although one needs to provide scratching posts and entertainment. Bordedom can change a personality.
Apart from choosing the right Maine coons, we test thoroughly for genetic faults, potential health hazards, blood type, risk for hip dysplasia and HCM. We do everything possible to improve the breed on standard of points for showing, and giving owners the nicest pets.
We focus on silver, blue, and cream tabbies, but also have shaded and brown classics.

Our focus on breeding show-quality cats does not only align with GCCF standards, in addition we test all our active cats for genetic faults traceable in their DNA, the potential for developing HCM via a heart ultrasound by a board certified cardiologist and we have them X-rayed to know the potential for developing hip dysplasia. This is not always 100% excluded, but by using cats with 0 or 1 grade, you limite the chances of hip dysplasia in the off-spring.
As GCCF and MCCC registered breeders who prioritise on health but secondly on temperament of our cats. Only with good temperament and excellent socialisation can you achieve friendly and well behaved cats. We do not cage or isolate. They are all in the home and used to house noises, all other cats and a 40kg Weimaraner ( hunting dog)
